All you need is love…

A “subtle and mysterious global hum” has been detected by seismologists studying the Earth. This hum is apparently a 500-watt undulation (roughly the amount needed to power 10 light bulbs) made of two-minute to five-minute seismic waves, endearingly named “Love Waves”. Scientists have yet to find a source for these “Love Waves”, although some theories point to winds, ocean waves, or even the sun.

Regardless of its origins, my speculation is that science is beginning to measure the vibrations that many Eastern prophets have long described in ancient texts like the Indian Upanishads. There is the ubiquitous sacred mantra, OM, which as writer Subhamoy Das (about.com) describes “is the one eternal syllable of which all that exists is but the development. The past, the present, and the future are all included in this one sound, and all that exists beyond the three forms of time is also implied in it.”

At the least, this data hints at the idea that the Earth is not just an inanimate object, merely inhabited by animate beings, but potentially a living organism with good and bad “vibes” just like the rest of us.
